What you do when you wait for LID

If you are Camden...
you start swim lessons.  You try your hardest every day, and every day your mommy asks you if you want to jump off the diving board.  You immediately shake your head and say 'No..Noo...NO!'  On the fifth day of swim lessons, your mommy says that you can play Star Wars Legos while your sister takes her nap.  It doesn't take you long to decide the diving board might not be that scary after all.

You patiently wait your turn in line.  Then you bravely walk up to the edge of the board.

You take a deep breath and JUMP
and for the rest of the day you talk about how it was so much fun, and you can't WAIT to do it again.

If you are Caroline...
you trip while running and fall face first into the corner of a table at church on Father's Day. You require lots of hugs and lovin' but refuse the ice pack that could really help the swelling.  And you look like this three days later...
On the fourth day, your mommy takes you to the doctor just to make sure the nose isn't actually broken.

Nothing is broken, and you get a Barbie sticker, which makes up for any pain the table may have caused.  One week later, your face is still a purple/yellowish hue.

If you are Aaron...
you spend every two days watching the Thunder play Miami in the NBA Finals... and then you watch them lose four.games.in.a.row.  There are no pictures of this for obvious reasons.

If you are me...
you get a pedicure with girlfriends and watch as the nail tech paints cherry blossoms on your toes.
You tell your mother about it the next morning and claim the cherry blossoms are a sign that you will get LID today.

A few hours later, you check your email and see these beautiful words in your inbox....

 You are LID.

You scream, jump up and down, and can't decide if you want to cry or scream some more.  Than you have to explain yourself to your husband (who is home from work) and your kids who think you have gone crazy.  Then you call your mother and tell her the cherry blossoms on your toes were a sign after all.

WE ARE LID, BABY.  After 10 days.  which is not bad at all considering China's timeframe right now.

What does this mean?
China has logged us in, which means they approve us to adopt from their country.  Our next step is a referral!  This could take a few months (I'll explain more later), but we are so glad to finally be at this stage of the process and are just now waiting on God's timing when we will see our daughter's face for the first time.  We.can't.wait.
