We were in OKC for Pine Cove Camp on Caroline's birthday, and because of Aaron's work schedule, he was unable to come down with us. As a birthday tradition, we decorate the kids' bedrooms while sleeping. This night I decorated their bedroom at my parent's house. Caroline wanted the theme 'Doc McStuffins' this year.
To celebrate her birthday, she wanted a big girl day with her momma that would include a pedicure, lunch, girl time with cousins Addi and Em, and cupcakes. We dropped Camden off in Norman for his first day of camp, and went in search of a nail salon in Moore, which ended up being an adventure in itself because not only was I driving in blinding rain but also the tornado in May had taken out the two salons suggested to us.
We finally found a salon, and Little Miss pranced into her first nail salon. She was ecstatic!
She carefully chose blue and hot pink for her colors... and informed the nail tech what design she wanted...
Hearts. lots of hearts.
While her fingers were drying, her toes were getting beautified. She sat in a kid's pedicure chair complete with a DVD player. The nail tech thought she would be nice and turn on the DVD player when Caroline sat down. Unfortunately, the movie was the the final Harry Potter film. Uh... no thanks, nail lady.
After Caroline got her nails done... and after we waited what seem like five hours for them to dry, we picked up some Chick-Fil-A and went to cousin Addi and Em's house for some girl time. The girls played dress and hosted quite the dance party. After a very long day of playing hard, we picked up Camden from camp and drove back to my parent's house. Both kids were exhausted!
While we were gone all day, my mom transferred some decorations to the dining room and made a special cake for Caroline. (I did not notice that one of my little angels changed the setting on my camera, so the pictures are a little blurry.)
Her Doc McStuffins cake
Happy Birthday to my Sweet Caroline.
