Random Happenings and "Da Da"

Camden and Aaron playing in the backyard. Notice everything is still green.
Where's my fall weather???

Camden has not been feeling well the last several days. He has had a random 103* fever with no other noticeable symptoms except he is one needy little baby. He wants me to hold him all of the time, which is sweet but he's one heavy little guy. He's also having trouble taking naps, and a tired Camden is a grumpy Camden. I finally took him to the doctor yesterday, but his doc says it must be a virus because his ears, nose, throat, etc. look completely normal. He seems to be feeling better today, so we are hopefully on the mend! Here's what has been going on as of late...

Camden is now quite the little talker. Two weeks ago he said "Da-Da" and a very muffled "Dog-Dog". Aaron was so excited for Camden to start saying "Da-Da"! I'm not sure how Gracie feels about being recognized, but at least she gets a warning before a Camden attack. Now instead of quietly sneaking up on a sleeping Gracie, Camden says "dog dog" over and over before leaping onto her. This gives Grace at least three seconds to get up and move away, but she's often too lazy to even do that.

Concerning our battle with Camden and eating solid foods... a week ago I would have told you I was getting dominated. It wasn't even a fair fight. Now we are slowly progressing away from the baby food a few bites at a time. His virus has slowed down the process a bit, but hopefully we will get back on track. We're also trying to get rid of the bottle right now. He loves his sippy cup with water in it, but he's a little unsure of the formula in his sippy. He will drink his sippy for a second, but then he'll spit it back out. We have started having playdates with some of Camden's friends, so hopefully Camden will watch them and learn that sippy cups are "in" right now and bottles are just not cool anymore.

Camden's first lady friend.
Miss Lauren wanted to give him hugs, but it was more of a tackle.

The house has been in a state of chaos because we are trying to get ready to put it on the market soon. Thank you so much to our families who have been up here on the weekends helping with everything! We have gotten so much done! I always thought if I stayed at home my house would be spotless because I would have so much time to pick it up... not the case. It seems it's even more difficult now to keep the house clean. I have a little man who LOVES to drag out everything! Camden likes to "adopt" an object for an hour or two and carry it around the house with him. His favorites include: pens, phones, William Sonoma spatulas, his hairbrush, etc. He LOVES the portable phones, but we do have a problem with Camden "calling" people. His record for being on the phone is 126 minutes. If you try to call and the line is busy, it's probably my son on the phone...again.

Camden enjoying the HUGE mess we made while cleaning out one of the rooms

As some of you may know, I have a little man with a birthday coming up! October is quite a big birthday month for my family. My dad's birthday was yesterday. Happy Birthday Pops!!! My mom's birthday is the 20th, mine on the 23rd, and Camden's is on the 31st! We have big plans to celebrate his birthday in a few weeks, and he'll, of course, dress up and go to his first trick-or-treat!
